Meal Plan Terms & Conditions

Meal Plan Terms

1. Meal Plan Rollover and Refunds

Beginning Fall 2026, unused meal swipes for students enrolled in an eligible Block Meal Plan (Block 20, Block 35, Block 75, or Block 180) will automatically roll over from the Fall semester to the Spring semester within the same academic year. Students enrolled in the Weekly 14 Meal Plan are not eligible for meal swipe rollover.

Unused Raptor Dollars roll over from the Fall semester to the Spring semester for all meal plans. Guest Meals do not roll over. At the conclusion of the Spring semester, all unused meal swipes and Raptor Dollars expire. Meal swipes are non-transferable, have no cash value, and cannot be exchanged for cash or credit.

Up until the ninth week of classes in each semester, a student may receive a pro-rated refund of the meal plan cost if the student follows the housing termination process outlined in the section titled “Housing Contract Cancellation Acknowledgement.” No pro-rated refund of a meal plan cost will be processed after the ninth week of classes in each semester or if a student’s housing contract is terminated for other reasons outlined in the contract.

2. Meal Plans Following Housing Termination

If a student terminates their housing contract but remains enrolled in classes, they may retain their meal plan and use it as a commuter student. This selection is made within the housing contract under “Meal Plans.” Students who wish to retain their meal plan should select the appropriate option during the housing termination process.

3. Weekly 14 to Block 180 Meal Plan Changes

Students enrolled in the Weekly 14 Meal Plan who wish to change to the Block 180 Meal Plan must email diningquestions@camden.rutgers.edu by midnight on September 4, 2026.

Students who switch from the Weekly 14 Meal Plan to the Block 180 Meal Plan for the Fall semester will also have the Block 180 Meal Plan applied to their term bill for the Spring semester. The Block 180 Meal Plan is eligible for Fall-to-Spring meal swipe rollover within the same academic year.

Purchase Pathway

When a student signs up for housing, the appropriate meal plan cost is automatically applied to their term bill. Payment and any applicable refunds are processed through Student Accounts Receivable (SAR).

Raptor Dollars are declining-balance funds loaded onto your Rutgers ID card that can be used at campus dining locations, including Starbucks, Baba’s Pizza, Food Lab, Third Street Market, and other participating dining venues.
